Outback

When I bought the Australorp pullets, I did not buy a cockerel because I had a rooster from last year's flock.  As the pullets developed, I realized that I had some special birds that were worth breeding.  I was able to get a free rooster from the same line from someone else who had bought chicks this spring.  We are going to trade eggs and try to keep this line going.  The breeder who created these beautiful birds sold the rooster, so there will be no more unless we breed ourselves.

The cockerel is one month older than my pullets, so he has already developed his beautiful tail feathers.  He has almost perfect shape for an Australorp.  He had to go into isolation in the back yard since he was coming from another farm, so he got a name......Outback.
